This tour conveniently departs less than a five minute walk down from the dock. Once checked in and geared up you're off to 2 beautiful snorkel stops for about 1.5 hours. One is a shallow snorkel and then a wall snorkel, offering an abundance of fish and marine life including a chance to swim with dolphins and see turtles, rays and game fish. This is a fully narrated tour that includes snorkel gear, wifi, soft drinks and rum punch on board.

Once checked in at the customer service tent, you are offered soft drinks or rum punch as you wait for your tour. Then off you go, first passing the Governor's Mansion on Governor's Beach. This tour is all narrated for your convenience every step of the way. Once at the first snorkel stop, a shallow one, guests have a chance to see friendly nurse sharks. Explore the beautiful coral reef, seeing different spices of coral like brain coral, sponge coral and fire coral. Also, check out the many spices of fish and marine life. Dive through tunnels and peep into caves and craves.

As the boat rides on to the second stop, guests get a chance to see and hear about the historic downtown and the once-striving salt industry. Once at the second snorkel, "the Amazing Wall," guests may plunge into the crystal clear ocean where an abundance of fish are always ready and waiting for you to feed them. Guest are given bread to feed the fish. Here, guests have the chance to swim with dolphins and likely see game fish, large groupers, turtles and rays. The drop-off amazes you as you look down and over into the clear ocean as it slowly drops off to 7,000 feet. Here, the suns rays shining down through the crystal water give off a blue glare and white glare, as looking off into the heavens. When in season, the humpback whales pass through and guests can hear them sing and often see them breach in the near distance.

A whale watching shore excursion off the coast of Grand Turk provides you with a excellent opportunity to view the Atlantic Humpback Whales making their journey from North America to their breeding grounds on the Silver Banks, just North of the Dominican Republic. You will be taken on an unforgettable adventure!

Humpback whale watching season is at its best in between the months of January and the end of March, with sightings as early as November and as late as the end of April. You'll board the designed and built whale watching vessel at the beach for a 3 hour journey out to an area that has had many sightings. In search of some whale activity, if the first area yields no sightings, then the tour will head to a second spot and if not then on to a third!

The boat has an elevated fly-bridge giving the captain a higher vantage point and increasing the possibility of sightings. The captain will also try to coordinate with other boats in the area as well as a parasailing boat to have the flyers look out for whales. Once whales are located, the boat will head out to where they are and observe them from a distance, being careful not to startle them or disrupt them, whilst giving you a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. Sometimes they will approach the boat and hang around for a while. In these instances one of the guides will get in the water and allow a few brave souls to accompany him for a closer look and hopefully some photos and videos to help document the visiting whales in an effort to determine if the area is in fact a breeding ground.

Humpbacks are very acrobatic, often you can see them breaching high out of the water and then slapping the water as they come back down. Sometimes they twirl around while breaching. Humpbacks also stick their tail out of the water into the air, swing it around and then slap it on the water's surface, making a very loud sound. All of these actions make these creatures captivating to watch from the boat.

Until recently it was common belief that the Silver Banks were the actual breeding grounds of the Atlantic Humpback Whales, recent research, data collection, photos and sightings have proven that this is not so. During the last whale watching season (December 2015-April 2016) they have recorded sightings of baby Humpbacks just a day or two old. It is amazing to see the mother training her calf to swim and pushing her up to the surface to breathe. When the calf is that young the mother tends to stick around in the same area nursing her calf in preparation for the big journey back to their feeding grounds in North America. There were days where this tour encountered as many as 6 mother calf pairs in one trip.

Grand Turk is rapidly becoming one of the world's top ten destinations for humpback whale watching in a safe and respectful manner. While whale sightings are very common and the captain tries his/her best to find them, it cannot be guaranteed that you will see them on your excursion.
